William Goldman, Esq. (1940 - 2015)
After earning his Juris Doctorate in 1966, Founding Partner William Goldman cut a brilliant swath through the field of eminent domain, defending countless Ohio property owners faced with the threat of losing their land to powerful government agencies and energy companies.
Bill’s landmark cases include numerous multi-million dollar jury verdicts in eminent domain cases. In one such case, the condemning authority offered $3.5 million and Bill secured a jury verdict for $8.3 million. In another case, the condemning authority offered $3.8 million and Bill secured a jury verdict for $13 million. Bill’s successful trial history spanned the State of Ohio.
Bill was just as comfortable in a farm field as he was in a court of law. “Leveling the playing field” for landowners became Bill’s mission and his passion. Through his leadership and skill, his firm became Ohio’s leading eminent domain law firm.
The Ohio legal community suffered a great loss in December 2015 when Bill passed away. Bill left a lasting impact on this law firm and its members continue to honor his memory through our diligent service to our clients.
